KAVAK is a Mexico-based challenger brand & service platform in the car marketplace funded by Softbank.

The company’s mission is to simplify and elevate the car ownership experience in Latin America. The company’s vision is to create an all-in-one car management tool that takes care of the entire customer lifecycle, from buying & selling to insurance, financing, and car maintenance.

Engaged as an independent consultant by KAVAK’s Chief Product Officer, the project goals are:

  • Communicate KAVAK’s value proposition to the target audience

  • Incorporate new branding from partner agency

  • Improve the usability of the existing mobile web & app and develop key UI elements

  • Integrate buy, sale, and car management functionality into the new KAVAK app

 

Car re-sell ecosystem for the LatAm market

Deep dive into the unique challenges of Mexico’s pre-owned car market, target audience needs, mobile behavior, and competitive landscape to create a set of recommendations that became a blueprint of actionable plans for the website & app redesign. In collaboration with KAVAK, stress-tested SuperUnion’s work-in-progress visual identity against the UI to create a set recommendations for translating the brand strategy into the digital environment.

 

Buy, sell, maintain, and finance your car all in one place

MVP definition and design of the mobile app & responsive website that combined buy, sell, and manage functionality. Working with the KAVAK leadership team to define features to support the user’s car ownership journey from browsing to ownership, management, and trade-in.

  • Creating a flexible design system to accommodate new functionalities for a customized user experience across web and app.

  • Incorporate visual identity from SuperUnion to express KAVAK branding

  • Responsive web homepage design to clearly community KAVAK’s value proposition
